The book of 1 John is one of my favorites because it is all about assurance.  John, who was one of the closest disciples to Jesus, deals with that subject a lot; covering things like how you can KNOW for sure that you are saved; how you can KNOW that what you believe is true; how you can be ASSURED of God’s love and control in your life; and how to maintain that certainty in the face of disappointment and opposition.

Assurance of salvation sometimes eludes us, doesn’t it?  Even when you “know that you know” you are His in your heart, your mind can try to tell you something different.  For me, my biggest area of struggle in life is dealing with worry and anxiety.  I don’t even know where the struggle comes from.  God has been good to me my whole life.  He has been completely faithful in…

What am I Doing?

imageHello!!! I’m sitting here typing my first blog EVER and really have no idea what to say. Yes, I’m crazy like that. So, let’s start off by defining ‘Oola.’ Some of you might have asked that question when running across my name. Here it is: ‘Oola is a “state of awesomeness.” When your life is balanced and growing in the 7 key areas of life (Fitness, Finance, Family, Field, Faith, Friends, and Fun).’ I completely quoted that from the most amazing two men who created this ‘state of awesomeness’ word, Dave Braun & Troy Amdahl.
